  Long wait but great food and service. Didn't know that the waiters doubled as the entertainment too :)
  Omelets were great, blueberry pancakes to die for, and the hash browns were dynamite as well.

  Went to Al's this morning, best greasy spoon in the state, 14 stools, situated in the middle of Dinkytown. Nostalgic of its nearly 70 year history. Awesome breakfast, some of the best I've had. The staff was welcoming and humorous. Worth the wait, and especially worth taking the time to check out this cozy diner.

  The experience was really amazing, with only one aisle for sitting and waiting and not many seats. It's something you will not experience elsewhere. As a plus the service was pretty great, authentic, and they were rather funny. It takes a long time to get a seat and your food, but after the hour or so my waffle and bacon, although fairly simple, were spectacular. I would definitely bring some people back with me.
  
  Something else I love that topped off the experience for me was the fact they had toy dinosaurs for children to play with while waiting and eating to get them off their devices.
  
  I would definitely recommend going if you have two hours to spare and are in the area for a great breakfast.
